Sofia Architecture Week 2008 is the first international forum for architecture in Bulgaria, which will be held as a two day conference between 18th and 19th of September in Sofia. It presents a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas between architects and investors. The lecturers are prominent in their field professionals from all over Europe. They will touch upon themes that are on the crossing point between urban design, architecture, business and society.

Sofia Architecture Week 2008 sets a propitious stage for better understanding the line of work of an architect and an investor in order to create a more adequate communication between the two of them.

Sofia Architecture Week 2008 brings together architects, investors and all interested in the future development of the Bulgarian city environment to discuss latest trends, explore innovations, and exchange ideas. Protagonists of national and international architecture will address the current state of Bulgarian urban design and the plausible scenarios for its future progress.

In its inaugural edition Sofia Architecture Week 2008 is focused on a hot problem from the national urban reality – the lack of a meeting point between the investors’ goals and wishes and the architects’ decisions and ideas. In order to build a more sustainable and well-envisioned future collaboration between the two professions is a must. The conference will assist and promote the realization of this idea by giving floor to specialists with good experience in both fields of work on four main themes: sustainable and emerging architecture, urban revival, urban and public space, and transitions in South Eastern Europe.
