Imago & Void
The project:
The brand new name of Kinesthetic Project stands for a group of young professionals who already have a few successful performances to boast of. These are the choreographers Violeta Vitanova and Stanislav Genadiev, the artist Miroslav Yordanov, the set designer Ognyana Serafimova-Peneva and cultural studies graduate Diana Papazova.
They made their debut in 2006 with the multimedia performance Imago. Just back from Switzerland, where they danced in the Linga dance company, Violeta and Stanislav gathered a team for their first independent project and invited Ognyana to work on the costumes and scenography. Imago proved very successful and scooped a couple of awards.
Next came their dance miniature 25.03. The set and costumes were done by Ognyana and Miroslav and the idea and choreography were by Violeta and Stanislav. 25.03 was created especially for the Margarita Mladenova international Competition of Arabesque Ballet. It won the prize of the international jury, as well as the awards for original idea and original dance language.
The choreography for the Void project was based on a text by Miroslav Yordanov, who also gathered the crew. In the very beginning they were joined by Diana Papazova. She helped clear the concept of the performance and came up with its name.
Kinesthetic Project are ambitious to continue developing projects in the field of dance and visual arts.
The shows:
Imago is a combination of bodies, paint, dance, animation, originally written electronic music and a powerful choreography. Despite being their debut, the performance was immediately pronounced as one of the interesting new displays of contemporary dance and won second place in the National Competition for Contemporary Choreography organized by the Humarts Foundation. Soon after this, Imago blew away the theatrical guild and in 2007 earned an Icarus for best debut – it was the first time ever this award was given to a dance project. Since then the performance has visited Germany and Greece.
Imago is the last phase in the development of insects. It is also a term, used by Jung to describe the way, in which people create their personality by identifying with images from the collective unconscious.

Void
The premiere of Void was in April 2008. The equally impressed and unanimously positive reactions of the Bulgarian press and audience made one thing clear: this performance is the event of the year in the field of Bulgarian dance. Described by some critics as pure, even cold dance, Void is a dynamic performance where movements are repeated until they become simple mechanics and change the meaning of the body.

The press:
They are not even 25, but they are recognized by everyone who likes the original, the different, contemporary dance. With their very first project Imago they shook the heavy theatre machine here.
Dnevnik
They are very contemporary and this is clear to everyone who has seen their performance Imago… The provocative and original show consciously stays away from the grandiose dancing style, but rather sticks to the personal experience - something which is hard to attain even for older choreographers.
Magazine 1
Void could very well be the dance event of the last year. It raises the bar even higher than Imago… The dance in Void is mechanical and energetic. The moves are geometrical. It’s cold. Void is pure dance, performed by professionals trained abroad.
